§03 / FAQ

Questions we've heard.

What happens to my Pro license if Axion shuts down?

The EULA promises that Pro features keep working forever once you've paid — the offline build is the build, and that part's in writing. Axion isn't open-source today; the codebase is private. If we ever sunset the hosted version, the plan is to publish the source with build instructions (and likely a standalone binary) so you can keep running it yourself.

Is Axion Bridge a paid feature?

No. Axion Bridge is free on Windows because low latency is core to the product. Pro still unlocks Pro app features such as MIDI, third-party IRs, public preset sharing, the looper, and 96 kHz mode. (NAM capture loading is free on every tier.)

How do I get Axion Desktop and the plugin?

Both are Pro features. Head to the download page, verify the email you bought Pro with, and the links unlock: Axion Desktop (native app for Windows and macOS, with ASIO / CoreAudio low-latency) and the Axion plugin (VST3 and CLAP for Windows; macOS to follow). The macOS app is signed and notarized by Apple. The Windows builds are currently unsigned, so Windows may show a "Windows protected your PC" prompt on first launch — choose More info → Run anyway.

Is there a refund window?

14 days, no questions, for any reason. Email hi@axion.cab with your license key. Cloud subscriptions can be cancelled any time from your account page — you keep access through the end of your current billing period.

Do I need an account to use the free version?

No. The free tier is entirely anonymous — local browser storage only. You only get an account when you upgrade to Pro (for license recovery) or Cloud (for sync).

Can I use Axion for paid work / commercial recordings?

Yes, on any tier. Recordings you make are yours; we claim no rights. The Pro license is per-person, not per-machine, and works on as many of your own computers as you like.

Does it work without an internet connection?

Yes, after the first load. Axion caches itself as a PWA and runs locally. You only need network for preset sharing, the public gallery, and Cloud sync.

What about education / nonprofit / open-source discounts?

Email us. We say yes to most of these as long as you can show some context — a school email, a public repo, a teaching syllabus, etc.

I bought Pro before launch — do I get the launch discount retroactively?

Yes. Anyone who paid full price during the beta gets a $10 store credit auto-applied to a future Cloud subscription, or a refund of the difference on request.
